Optimum FM is a 24-hour Haitian sub-carrier radio station operating currently in Brooklyn, New York. Three years ago, Radio Lakay was operating as a low power radio station. During the same period of time, a group of religious entrepreneurs started a sub-carrier radio station in New Jersey, under the name of Trans Continental.
In December of 2000, the need to reach a larger audience prompted the managers of Optimum FM to aquire the frequency of 96.3 SCA, which has been experiencing great success. The legacy of our popularity in Brooklyn combined with the existing audience of the former Radio Trans Continental have put us in an enviable position among our competitors. The diversity and content of our programming have secured our support among the young, middle age and adult population.
While we have established a progressive presence in Connecticut and upstate New York, our strong hole is Brooklyn, Queens, and New Jersey. More than 200,000 of the 300,000 receptors sold are in Brooklyn, and New Jersey. Our sales growth is still growing strong with an average of 300 receptors a month
